Roman Oben has hosted more than a dozen youth football camps since creating The Roman Oben Foundation in 2003.  Since retiring from the NFL and relocating to northern New Jersey, Oben has expanded his youth football programming and now is the Founder and Executive Director of Oben Flag Football. The non-contact Skills & Drills camp company provides its young participants the best combination of physical training in speed, agility, coordination, and core strength while also honing his/her skills of goal-setting, teamwork, and problem-solving. As the only for-profit company that is an official licensee of USA Football and it’s FUNdamentals program, no other program teaches children to improve their game by harnessing and developing as many of these skill-sets while also ensuring that they have fun.

In the early years, Oben’s non-contact camps were open to boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 14. Coaching staff for each of the camps typically consisted of active and former NFL players, in addition to area high school coaches. Registration to the free camps were open to the first 300 registrations on a first-come, first serve basis.

At each camp, Oben stressed football fundamentals while also teaching kids valuable lessons about the importance of hard work, dedication, goal setting and teamwork. The camps included approximately three hours of field work before campers and coaches break for lunch. After lunch, the campers will hear motivational messages from Roman and other NFL players about the importance of education, respect for parents and peers, and the power of positive decision making.

Today Oben Flag Football partners with over twenty communities in northeastern and mid-Atlantic states to provide football skills & drills clinics and camps to enhance the quality of their overall recreation and youth enrichment programs.
